Walajapet Sri Danvantri Arogya Peedam Timings, History, Seva

Sri Danvantri Arogya Peedam management welcomes all the devotees to visit Sri Danvantri Arogya Peedam, Sacred Center of Indian Culture. This is not a temple, but a Universal Peedam. The Universal Peedam means “Welfare of the Universe”, the phrase used by all saints who worked for the welfare of all living beings in this universe through their spiritual powers, spreading the message of compassion and love. This Center is common to all religions, to remove the sufferings of mankind and inspire them to share compassion and love with their fellow human beings.

Sri Danvantri Arogya Peedam was established by Dr. Sri Muralidhara Swamigal, who has been blessed with a number of supernatural powers (siddhis) by cosmic powers and energies of the universe.

Sri Muralidhara Swamigal’s Danvantri Arogya Peedam is a universal curer of diseases of the humankind (MAKKAL PINI THEERKUM MARUTHUVAMANAI). A Divine Hospital where the God of Medicine nurses and cures all of us and brings back mental, physical, and emotional health.

The main idol of Lord Danvantri has been sanctified in the Garba Graha on the double-decker structure. For a few feet beneath the actual Peedam upon which Idol rests, there is a deep space lined with granite stones.

A copper pipe, about seven inches in diameter, has been placed at the center of the space and 54 crore mantras written by devotees have been tightly packed around the pipe. This copper pipe serves as a carrier of the vibrations that are constantly reverberating from the strength of the mantras and spreads the energy. The purpose of placing the mantras beneath the Peedam and idol is that the collective powers of the personal faiths of each devotee bring forth an effect of profuse magnitude and strength.
