Sri Krishna is the central figure of the Hindu Bhagavad Gita. Shri Krishna is widely regarded as an avatar, a direct descendant of God. Sri Krishna is one of the many names of Sri Vishnu and Sri Krishan is considered an incarnation of Sri Vishnu.
Sri Krishna was born in northern India around 3,228 BC. The Puranas consider that the life of Sri Krishna marks the passage between the Dvapara era and the Kali Yuga (current age)
