The temple is built not as per traditional Hindu temple architecture, but that of the Golden Temple. Similar to Golden Temple, it rises from the middle of a tank and has a central dome as well as canopies. The foundation stone of Durgiana Temple was laid by Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, one of the greatest political leaders and reformers of the developing India. The temple is a famous storehouse of Hindu scriptures.
The temple, dedicated to goddess Durga, is also called as Lakshmi Narayan Temple. A major portion of the temple is also dedicated to Hindu Goddess Laxmi, the Goddess of wealth and Narayan, the Preserver of Universe. All celebrities who visit Golden Temple do not miss a visit to Durgiana Temple.
