Dodda Ganapathi Temple or Bull Temple is one of most popular temple, located on the way to Basavanagudi Bull Temple, this Ganesh Temple is widely known for its massive Lord Ganesha monolith, which is approximately 18 feet high and 16 feet wide in size. Captivating hordes of devotees every day, this temple is very popular not only among residents of Bangalore, but also among tourists from all over the world.

Also known as Shakthi Ganapathi and Satya Ganapathi, the statue here in the temple is said to have grown its current size. Credit for the construction of this temple goes to the founder of Bangalore, Kempegowda I. According to some, he found a stone with the engraving of Lord Ganesha while he was walking. Then he ordered the sculptors to cut the Ganapathi idol out of a single stone.

This temple is also known for its Ganesha festival which attracts Devotees to visit this temple. During the week-long festival, the idol of Lord Ganesh is decorated in different ways. The most attractive and beautiful is Benne Alankara (butter decoration), where the idol is coated with 100 kg of butter. Ganesha Idol is also covered in cream color and decorated with buttons and golden laces. This is the best time to visit this temple while seeing the colorful fervor of the festival.
