Bhadrachalam Sita Rama Temple Darshan Timings, History, Seva

The Bhadrachalam Sita Rama Temple is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to Sri Rama and his consort Sita. This Sri Rama Temple is located in Bhadrachalam town which is on the banks of River Godavari in Telangana.

The temple holds great significance in Hindu mythology and is associated with the epic Ramayana. According to the legend, Sri Rama and Sita, along with Rama’s loyal brother Lakshmana, lived in the forests around Bhadrachalam during their exile period of fourteen years. It is believed that the sage Bhadra Maharshi had his hermitage here, where Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana stayed for a brief period during their exile.

Bhadrachalam Sitarama Temple History:

A sacred place that attracts thousands of worshipers from around the world is the home of Sri Rama (the seventh avatar of Sri Vishnu). This place on the hill which is surrounded by the holy river Godavari which flows south is the famous shrine of Bhadrachalam – The name derived from Bhadragiri (Bhadra Mountain – a blessing from Meru and Menaka). According to a legend, the importance of this sanctuary dates back to the era of the Ramayana. This coherent place of the hill existed in the “Dandakaranya” of the Ramayana period, where Rama with his wife Sita and his brother Laxmana had spent their Vanavasa and Parnashaala. also close to this temple site. It was on this temple site that, long after Ramavatara, Bhagawan Mahavishnu again manifested himself as Rama to fulfill a promise he made to His Bhakta Bhadra, who continued his Tapas through Yugas, praying for the grace of the Bhagawan Sri Ramachandra. It is said that Lord Rama came in the dreams of his devotee Pokala Dammakka and told her where he was in Bhadragiri. As Rama said, Pokala went to the anthill and took out the idols and built a small temple with bamboo sticks. Later Bhakta Ramdas Constructed the temple with an amount of 6 Lakhs.
