Sri Muthyalammavari Temple History:
Self-manifested Goddess Sree Muthyala Ammavaru, is the presiding deity of this renowned temple. This famous ammavaru temple is located in East Kanupuru village in Chillakuru Mandal. The Temple Devasthanam Trust members has installed an idol of Pothuraju with a parrot, and raised brick walls around and laid thatched roof in the year 1942.
During the year 1980 a new idol of the Goddess Muthyala Ammavaru has be installed.
This temple was undertaken by the Endowment department of Andhra Pradehs during 1991. With the help of villagers, the temple was reconstructed with a four stairs Gopuram, compound wall and performed Kumbhabhishekam on 04-03-1999. Since then the procedure of the worship has be changed according to the rites of Shakthi tradition (Saaktheyamu).
During the times of yore, the devotees strongly believe that worshipping Goddess will set relief from various spreading diseases and chicken pox. Also worshipping the Goddess will be blessed with good health, wealth and progeny.
A large number of devotees from Tamilnadu also come here to worship the Goddess Muthyalamma to seek her blessings.
