The Kedarnath temple is a famous pilgrimage and one of the Chardham. The revered sanctuary was visited by thousands of pilgrims. The Kedarnath Temple is located on the bank of the Mandakini River at an elevation of 11,755 feet. It is one of the highest temples among the 12 Jyotirlingas. The temple is not accessible by road and can be reached by helicopter or 16 km on foot from Gaurikund. There are also a pony, Kandi and Dandi services which can accommodate pilgrims at a fixed price.
