Koil Alwar Tirumanhanam: The purpose of performing koil alwar Tirumanjanam is purification of sanctum and temple premises, During the ceremony the murtis and other articles are removed from santum and the mula murti is covered with water-proof covering, This ceremony performed strictly as per the agamas is conducted in a year four times:
1) Before Ugadi
2) Before Anivara Asthanam
3) Before Vaikunta Eakadasi
4) Before Annual Brahmotsavam
