For many wise men and philosophers in India, music remains a means of enlightenment. They incorporated great philosophical truths into melodious musical compositions that were considered as great values of Indian culture.
Music is a divine form of art that helps to relax the body, mind, soul and spirit. In today’s hectic life and culture in the United States, children, more than adults, are extremely vulnerable to stress in life. This can cause them to act in a way that does not promote their own progress in life, both personally and professionally.
We are happy to announce music classes at Sai Mandir. Ms. Lakshmi Putcha, accomplished singer and winner of Padutha Teeyaga USA, began teaching devotional songs, Bhajans, Annamacharya, Ramadasu, Purandara Dasa and Tyagaraja Krithis to small groups of people at Sai Mandir on Sunday afternoon. Several groups will be formed depending on the level or interest of the student. Classes have already started this month and we are still accepting new students.
In addition to regular music lessons, we also start special workshops for children and adults who are interested in learning keerthans.
