Nellaiappar Temple also known as Tirunelveli Temple is one of the popular Shiva Temple in Tirunelveli on the bank of the river Thamirabarani. Lord Shiva is worshipped as Nellaiappar or Venuvananathar in this temple. The temple is spread to an area of about 14 acres of land. Flowers, dhup and neivedyam (food offering) are offered to the gods. Six poojas are performed daily. Navratri, Tirukkalyanam, and Aarudra Darisanam are celebrated very grandly, and the chariot festival is widely celebrated in this temple.
