Virtual Varalakshmi Vratham Live Telecast Timings:
On Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon.
For the first time, the auspicious Varalakshmi Vratham held on July 31 this year at Tiruchanur Sri Padmavathi Ammavari temple will go virtual and devotees will have the chance to have a look and participate in the ritual online.
Given the COVID restrictions, the festival will be held in private. However, at the request of a section of the faithful, the TTD decided to broadcast the sacred event live on the Sri Venkateswara Bhakti channel from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. The devotee can participate in the ritual by sitting at home.
Tickets for the event will be available on the TTD website from 5:00 PM From July 22 to 5:00 PM. From July 30, which can be booked with a payment of ₹ 1,001. Participants who book tickets will receive a set which includes “utthariyam”, a piece of blouse, a bundle of kumkum, bracelets and prasadam which is offered in the special Puja, which will be sent by India Post (not for foreign devotees ). The “gotra” of the devotees will be mentioned during the ritual and the same writing on paper will be placed at the sacred feet of the presiding deity. Participants can take the “sankalpam” (vote) while watching the event live and receive the blessings in virtual mode.
The TTD management has clarified that even local devotees, including the residents of Tiruchanur, will not be allowed into the temple during the event. The authorities have also reiterated that no ‘arjitha seva’ or any other ritual has been revived either at the Tirumala Srivari temple or any other local temple.
