Vikhar Manzil is located in Prakash Nagar, hyderabad near begumpet airport. The prime minister Sir Vikar ul Umra of Hyderabad state has built Vikhar Manzil in between 1893 to 1901. During his reign, he made many valuable contribution to the field of education and added technology, legal classes and Asafia library. He belonged to the noble family Paigahs. In 1900 century the palace was built in indo-European architectural style.
He got admired by seeing the Hussain Sagar Lake, and started to build the palace. The stairecase path leads to a deep veranda. All the doors were made with Burma teak. Sir Vikar ul Umra do not have the opportunity to live in the palace, but his son Nawab Vilayat jung Wali ud Daula lived in this palace. This palace was easily seen from Begumpet Airport at that time. In 1950 the surrounding places were sold to the Government and some place encroached by Municipal authorities.
