Sri Rama Chandra temple is a famous 700 years old ancient temple located in Ammapally, near Shamshabad Village. The Temple Archakas stated that the Temple was built in 13th century by Venghi Rajulu. It is 30 kilometers far from Hyderabad city and 5 kms far from shamshabad bus top. To reach this temple from Hyderabad city (via mehdipatnam) and should take right turn at Shamshabad begumpet junction and drive for 5 kms. The temple is situated towards left side close to the main road.
This temple is famous for film shootings. In the 13th century the temple Sri Rama Chandra was built by the king vengi. But the idol was 1000 years ago. This temple is embellishing with a large seven-story tower which is quite famous among Telugu fans. There is a large sleeping posture of lord Vishnu above the gateway of the tower. There is a large corridor around the temple and the tower is followed by the main temple. There is an idol of lord Rama, Sita and Laxmana and its Makara Thoranam which looks beautiful and formed by a single black rock. Lord Anjaneya Swamy always follows Rama and he stay accompanying which lord Rama. The Anjaneya swamy is idol is placed near the Dwajasthambam facing Sri Rama. Usually the anjaneya accompanying lord Rama is not seen in garbhagriha. There is an ancient pond which is surrounded by porticos and once it provided the shelter to the pilgrims. We can see this pond opposite to the mandapam and this pond is surrounding with coconut trees.
