Sri Yellamma Temple, also known as Sri Yellamma Pochamma Temple or Renukadevi Temple, is one of the oldest and most revered temples in Hyderabad, Telangana. The Balkampet Yellamma Temple has been standing here since the 15th century. It is devoted to Goddess Yellamma, believed to be an incarnation of Goddess Parvathi Devi.
The temple attracts a multitude of devotees who come to offer their reverence and seek the blessings of the goddess. Goddess Yellamma, also known as Goddess Renuka and Goddess Jagadamba, is regarded as the “Mother of the Universe.”
Many devotees claim to have witnessed miracles following their visits to the temple. They share stories of the goddess alleviating their fears and attending to their worldly concerns.
Within the Yellamma Devi Temple premises, there is a smaller temple dedicated to Pochamma Devi, located on the southern side. Goddess Pochamma serves as the kshetrapalaka (protector) of this temple. Hence, the temple is also referred to as Sri Yellamma Pochamma Devasthanam.
In Balkampet Yellamma Temple Chandi Homam is performed on every full moon day (Pournami) of each month. On this auspicious day, the Goddess is adorned with a resplendent Golden Saree.
The Yellamma temple in Balkampet has stood here since the 15th century, embodying centuries of devotion. A profound belief persists that the water from this temple possesses healing properties, leading people to collect it in bottles and mix it with regular water for bathing rituals. Experience the sacred traditions and mystical aura surrounding the revered Yellamma temple, where faith and the power of the holy water intertwine.
Currently, the administration of this Devasthanam is overseen by an Executive Officer holding the position of Assistant Commissioner. The administrative control of the Devasthanam falls under the purview of the Commissioner, Endowments Department, T.S., Hyderabad.
Kumkuma Archana and Annadanam are performed every day.
Chandi Homam takes place during the full moon days (Pournami) every month, with the Goddess adorned in a resplendent golden saree on this auspicious occasion.
Nitya Kalyanam is conducted daily, except on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays.

Note: During the Sodasochar Puja, there will be no rituals, such as Archanas or Puja, taking place. Access to the Garbhagudi area, both inside and in front of it, will be restricted.
