The Sri Shanmukha Subrahmanya Sri Maha Vishnu Temple is situated in the Puttur taluk of the Dakshina Kannada district in Karnataka, India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Kartikeya, worshipped as Shanmukha Subrahmanya, the lord of all serpents, and Lord Maha Vishnu. The Kemminje Shanmukha Subrahmanya Maha Vishnu temple is a serene and beautiful place, visited by hundreds of devotees, pilgrims, and tourists every day seeking the blessings of the deities and fulfillment of their vows through their rituals.
One of the major festivals celebrated here is Subramanya Shashti, dedicated to Lord Subramanya. While Shashti of every month is dedicated to the lord, the Shukla Paksha Sashti in the month of Margashira Masa is special and celebrated with special Pooja’s and Abhisheka. The Subramanya Sashti Vrat observed on this day is highly efficacious in winning the blessings of Lord Subramanya and conferring prosperity upon the devotees. Special prayers and rituals are held in Kemminje Temple on this day to commemorate the occasion.
