Rishikesh Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple Timings, History

Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple or Lord Balaji Mandir is a famous Vaishnavas temple located in Rishikesh, Dehradun district, Uttarakhand. The main deity of the temple is Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy, popularly called Lord Balaji in this region.

Goddess Sridevi, Bhudevi, Goda Devi (Sri Andal), Sri Lakshmi Narayana Swamy, Sri Anantha Padmanabha Swamy and Garudalwar are the other shrines in the temple. The major festivals held annually in this temple are the Annual Brahmotsavams and Bandra (on the death anniversary of Sri Satchidananda Saraswati Maharaj). All Sevas and rituals starting from Suprabhatam to Ekantha Seva as in Tirumala Temple are being offered to Lord Balaji.

Rishikesh Venkateswara Temple History:

Balaji Mandir was built in 1972 near “Andhra Ashram” which is managed by TTD. The Andhra Ashram was built by “Sri Satchidananda Saraswati Maharaj” in 1942 and handed over to TTD in 1969. It is the abode of Sri Venkateswara Swamy. After the temple was built, “Sri Sri Sri Tridandi Ramanuja Pedda Jiyar Swamy” performed “Samprokshana” on November 30, 1972. From then onwards Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam also maintains the Sri Venkateswara Mandir in Rishikesh.
