Sri Siva Vishnu Temple is located in Lanham, Maryland, is about 12 km from Washington DC. What began as a very small idea, in the living rooms of some devotees in the late seventies, has become one of the most Great temples of the Western Hemisphere. The construction of the Royal Temple began in 1988 and incorporated the architectural styles of the Mayan, Pallava, Vijayanagara, Kerala and South Canara temples.
The Temple houses several Sannidhis with several deities who were consecrated between 1990 and 2002. The last consecrated deity was in 2002, and all were re-consecrated during the Jebrnodharana Kumbhabhishekam in 2003.

Sri Siva Vishnu Temple Temple Facilities:
Sri Siva Vishnu Temple Weekend Lunch Program:
The temple makes lunch available to devotees on weekends and special holidays for nominal donations. The lunch counter is open from 18:00. at 21:00 on Fridays, from 11:00 to 21:00 Saturdays and Sundays with a different menu.
Volunteers are needed to pack and distribute food and help with cleaning. In addition, although the Temple has cooks to prepare food, volunteers are sometimes needed to help prepare food. A member of the Temple Food Committee will always be in the kitchen during the food distribution.
We believe this is a great volunteer opportunity for families, including children. The time commitment is limited between 10:30 and 17:00 on Saturday or Sunday of your choice. You can also register monthly or quarterly if you wish to participate more frequently.
We strongly recommend that you sign up for this important volunteer activity and that family members and friends participate. Contact us via the volunteer registration form and the SSVT Food Committee member will send you an email or call you to plan your food distribution day. In addition, you will receive an email reminding you of your commitment a few days before the scheduled day.
