Chengalamma Temple Sullurpet, also known as the Goddess Chengalamma Parameshwari Temple, is a revered Hindu temple located in the village of Sullurpet on the Kolkata-Chennai highway. According to historical records, the temple was established during the fourth and fifth centuries when the goddess manifested herself in the village. Over time, she became known as the village goddess “Tenkali,” but today, she is worshipped by devotees as Chengalamma.

The Chengalamma Temple Sullurpet is situated on the bank of the Kanlangi River and is believed to have been built in honor of the goddess who appeared in the village. Chengalamma Brahmotsavams or Sullurpet Chengalamma Temple Jathara is a grand celebration that takes place once every seven years in the months of May and June. This festival is celebrated with great pomp and show, and it is an event that is eagerly awaited by devotees of the goddess.
