9 February 2015 Tirupati: As a beginning to annual Brahmotsavams, the traditional religious ceremony Ankurarpanam has been performed at both Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple at Srinivasa Mangapuram and Sri Kapileswara Swamy temple in Tirupati on Monday evening.
Srinivasa Mangapuram temple and Kapilateertam temple Brahmotsavams will start from February 10 with Dhwajarohanam on Tuesday.
While ‘Ankurarpanam’, is considered the initiating religious ceremony, where in nine types of seeds will be sowed to signify fertility, prosperity and abundance. On the who this implies that the mega religious event of brahmotsavams should flourish well and shower prosperity on devotees. This ceremony is usually performed in all Vaishnavaite and Saivaite temples especially under the supervision of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam.
