Kadthal Maisigandi Maisamma or Maisigandi Temple is a famous Goddess Mahakali temple located in Maisigandi village on the Hyderabad – Srisailam Highway, Telangana. It is one of the famous temples in Telangana State. Devotees from Surrounding states visit this temple Jatara and get blessings of Ammavaru. This Maisamma temple resembles the cultural and mythological feelings of the local Banjara people. The temple is 57.2 km from Hyderabad, 59.4 km from Uppal X roads, 74.8 km from Jadcherla and 34.5 km from Kalwakurthy.
Maisigandi Maisamma idol is approx 20 feet in height, and the Gopuram is also huge and different from all the other temples in South India. The temple is open at the top. They say Maata needs an open temple. The priests are of the Banjara or Lambada caste. On weekends, the temple surroundings turn into beautiful with Bonalu and Jatara. Temples of Sri Rama, Lord Anjaneya, Lord Shiva, can also be seen on the backside of the temple. A very large “Koneru” (a stone-faced tank with steps) is also a good place to visit.
Local devotees believe the goddess is very powerful and fulfills their wishes. Devotees offer Bonalu after fulfillment of their wishes. The temple is crowded on Tuesdays, Fridays, Sundays, Holidays, Batukamma festival and on festival days. People come here and enjoy themselves with family and friends. One should taste the famous Natu Kodi (country chicken) with jowar-roti which is prepared by the local tribes is a must to taste here.
