The presiding deity Lord Hanuman (actually called as Bala ji) at this temple is believed to be self-appeared at the midst of Aravalli hills.
Lord Hanuman here appeared as Bala (a Sanskrit and Hindi word for child) Hanuman and respecting him with Ji (Sanskrit and Hindi work) combined Balaji is fixed for this Hanuman at Mehadipur.

Mehendipur Balaji Temple History:
According to Mythology, some 1000 years before, said that Lord Hanuman came in the dream of Shri Mahanth Ji. Lord Hanuman indicated him the location where lord self-appeared along with Lord Bhairav and Preth Raj. He also ordered him to worship regularly. Lord added that “ for those who are suffering from evil spirits and unknown diseases” will surely get relief at this temple place.
But Shri Mahanth Ji was unable to find Hanumanji in the dense forest. Later he prayed Lord Hanuman in the form of Lord Bala Hanuman. In a few days again Lord Hanuman appeared in Mahanth Ji and showed him the path to reach the place. Then he identified Lord Hanuman and started offering prayers and told to the villagers also to worship for the purpose of healing evil spirits and unknown diseases. Since then here Lord Hanuman was worshipped as Lord Balaji.
Lord Hanuman and Bhairav can be seen in the first chamber and in the last chamber the exorcism services will be held. Here one can see people possessed will behave strange. Some will be banging their heads, some hanged upside down or chained to a huge rock, hand cuffed and beaten or hot water poured on them without pain to them.
