There is no dress code to maintain but wearing dhoti and shirt is suggestible as to follow our tradition.
Rahu kalam is the auspicious time to do the pooja and you should reach the ticket counter two three hours before the rahu kalam time. if not able to reach then you can do the puja at any time between six am till six pm.
the pooja samagri will be issued along with the ticket itself. Just buy some flowers sold nearby the counter. There are four tickets – Rs. 2500 (vip), 1500 (puja done inside the main Temple), 750 and 350 outside the temple in a mandpam.

donot go for any assistance with the local people, but just with the temple officers or the securities.

And we cannot recite the manthra very precisely, right. So according to opinion i could suggest you to do it in a temple only. Also do the pooja twice in a year between mid of Jan-16 to June and secondly between mid of June to Jan. Remember to worship Lord Ganesha before starting the Rahu ketu pooja anywhere, then only it is said to be fruitful.

But doing the Pooja twice in a year once during the Uttarayana (mid Jan to mid July) & Dakshinayana (mid July to mid Jan) / year / every year, fetches you good fortunes and dissolves your sin done known or unknown timely also. It is said accordingly. Because Rahu is one god who gives good health & wealth.

Yes you can do the Rahu Kethu pooja on 07.02.15 at 09 am. reach the ticket counter before two three hours before the Rahu kelam time to buy the ticket. You will be given the pooja samagri along with the ticket itself. You have to buy flowers and Bilwa leaves sold near the counter.
