What is Kala Sarpa Dosha?

Kaala Sarpa Dosh is all about a faulty planetary position, with a snake-like formation, found in the person’s natal birth chart. In a dosha like this, the planetary positions are such that Rahu (head of the snake) and Ketu (tail of the snake) happen to fall on the beginning and end of the formation, respectively. There are many other ways by which Kaal Sarpa Yoga can be formed, the moon in the eight houses of the natal chart being one of the ways. However, there are no rules of thumb to Kaal Sarpa Dosha and it requires a good astrologer to study the planetary position accurately. The person suffering from Kala Sarpa Yoga finds it difficult life to lead a happy life. He/she suffering from Kala Sarpa Dosha has problems in married life, loss of money and constant health problems. The Dosha can be cured and controlled by offering prayers to Lord Shiva at some chosen destinations. Srikalahasti is one of them.

Rahu Kethu Pooja / Sarpa dosha / Graha doshas / Sarva Doshas Puja:

Rahu Ketu Pooja and Sarpdosha Puja are performed in order to minify the ill effects of yoga. Thousands of devotees flock to Srikalahasti to get the desired results through this pooja. Many of these pujas are performed with ascertained results for those who suffer from marital discord, not begetting children, problems in jobs and many long-standing problems. The puja is performed to neutralize the malefic effects of the planets and cut out its negative effect on the life of the individual.

The Pooja:

The Rahu Ketu Pooja lasts for 30-40 minutes, and it is always better to get the pooja performed during Rahu kalam. Unlike other pooja that consists of havan or Homa (fire ceremony), the Rahu Ketu Nivran Pooja is all done by chanting mantras for two metallic snake strips that represent Rahu and Ketu. Flowers and vermillion are sprinkled or proffered to the Rahu Ketu representing metals while the mantra is cantillated to complete the whole puja routine. Mantra recitations are also done in favor of one’s gotra, caste and janma nakshatra. ** No need to discard your clothes or having a bath after the pooja. You can go in the same clothes.

Best Timing to perform Rahu Ketu Pooja :

For Sani Bhagavan Saturdays are the best day.
For Rahu Ketu, Monday is the best day.
For Dakshina Moorthy Thursday is the best day.

Note:
It is suggested and advised to plan your journey exclusively if going for pooja as it takes a fair amount of time for the completion of the same.

  1. Dear Sir,
My 8 yrs old daughter has kala sarpa dosha and we want to do puja for that. I need below clarifications :

    1. Can the puja be done for such small kid?
    2. What would be the dress code for kid?
    3. Do myself and my wife need to/allowed to sit with her for the puja?
    4. Can the child eat anything before the puja if we do the puja in the morning hours or its needed to be empty stomach?
    5. is only 1 person allowed to take the ticket or all 3 of us can be there while taking the ticket for puja for my kid?

    Thanks so much

    1. Dear Mr. Ranjay
Yes she (8 years old girl) can perform the Rahu Kethu Pooja. If she is able to recite the manthra recited by the Priest and perform the pooja they announce the procedure, then you need not sit beside her. If not, request the poojari and sit along with her (only one is allowed). And both of you (husband and wife) are allowed for the dharshan and no need to buy another ticket.
      Dress Code -Traditional.
For children it is not required. One of you or both can stay in behalf of your child or not required.
For one Ticket only one person is allowed to do Rahu Kethu pooja and 3 others are allowed dharshan of the Lord Shiva and Gnanambha mother.

  2. hi my name is rupa my husband is having kalasarpa dosha, i just need i clarification that we both has to do the rahukethu pooja or only my husband has to do the pooja, please suggest me and also i wanted to know like doing pooja on amavasya will give good result is it sure ?

    1. Dear Rupa
You need not perform the Rahu Kethu Pooja if you are not having such Dosham. Your husband is enough to sit to perform. Along him you are allowed for the dharshan only. If you wanna perform, then you have to buy another ticket. Performing the pooja is not a flaw. Based on the problem you are suffering with, the day varies from Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. So consult your Astrologer for a better clarification about which day to perform according to your Janma Nakshathra also. That would fetch you good results. Also perform another time after July in between December. Its good.

    Thank You

    1. Dear Jeethu
Rahu Kala time is said to be very auspicious to perform Rahu Kethu Pooja. Purpose is important, if you wanna do it for your problems to
get solve, then Rahu kalam is suggestible. If not, you can very well perform the pooja at any time. You have not mentioned you dharshan time at Tirumala. If mentioned I would be able to give my suggestion.

  11. Hi,

I am coming from US planning to visit srikalahasthi and do rahu kethu pooja for sarpa dosham and Is tirumala mandatory?

    1. Dear Dedipya
Going to tirumala is not mandatory, but you should go to your home. Don’t go to any friends or relatives houses. dress code is mandatory.

      1. Thanks. I have been adviced to do naga pratistha. So I am planning to go to mangalore. Is it fine if i go there and go to my home in hyderabad.

        Thanks
        Dedipya

        1. And one more doubt..I am going through 7 years sani period too and (having naga dosham too )wanting to have baby. So is saturday good for pooja? or need to do on tuesday? And can you tell me how much time it takes to come out after having pooja and darshan? Can we eat out after that?

          1. For Sani Bhagavan Saturdays is the best day, For Rahu Ketu Monday is the best day and For Dakshina moorthy Thursday is the best day.
Poojas are performed daily, you have to decide the day to perform the pooja. For rahu ketu pooja max 45 min, for main deity depends on the crowd. If huge crowd is there you can go in 50 rs darshan. yes you can eat after the pooja.

  12. Sir

My wife got rahu keethu sarpa dhosham and after 2 years of marriage we dont have baby and so we have planned to go to tirupathi and kalahasthi. From chennai we r leaving on 11/01/2015 afternoon…. monday to tirumala and tuesday to kalahasthi.. can u plz give me complete guidance about the poojas and pariharas to be done theer in both tirumala and kalahasthi… plz give a outline wat all we should do in these 2 days in temple.

    1. Dear Mr. Rajendran
There is no pooja to do for Lord Venkateshwara at Thirumala. Only that you can do is a heart felt worship. Rahu Kethu Pooja is one that removes the sin done by you or by your Ancestors which might be a trouble for you in getting a child. You can perform this pooja on Tuesday Rahu Kalam – 03.00 pm to 04.30 pm. So you should reach the Ticket counter by two hrs prior to the Rahu Kala Time to buy the Ticket. On buying the Ticket (Rs. 1500, 750, 300), the temple authority give the pooja samagri (tow metal idols of Naga Hoods) and some flowers with a MelThundu. The pooja timing is 30 to 40 minutes. The priest will recite the Manthras which you should follow him (you should also recite). After that you will be sent for Dharshan of the Lord and Goddess. That’s it, from there you should go straight to your home only, remember.
Try to visit this temple to get a baby very soon. MOPI DEVI SUBRAHMANYA SWAMY TEMPLE (Lord Murugan). I came to know that number of devotees believe the God blesses the devotees with a child of sure. just perform a pooja and stay in the temple for a night and again a dharshan and go to your home after a request of your desire (BABY).
How to reach this Temple Place:
It is about 50 km away from Vijayawada city via Kankipadu and Challapalli in between Vijayawada – Avanigadda road line. The nearest Railway station is Repalle. Share autos are available from the station directly to the temple takes 20 minutes to reach.

      1. Thank u so much…. Can i do pooja in mopi devi subramanya swamy temple after doing pooja in kalahasthi….

        1. Rajendran Sir,
No, not now. Perform the pooja once in every six months i.e.,
Uttarayana (mid Jan to mid July) are a and Dakshinayana (mid July to mid Jan). The procedure gives good result for your son-in-Law.

  16. Dear Sir,

I am from overseas. I am planning to visit Sri Kalahasti Temple this coming March. Our Astrologer advised me and my husband to perform Sarpathosam Parigaram Pooja so that we can be blessed with children. I would like to know few things as we will be in India for about a week.

    1) can we go back to the hotel to bath and change the clothes? as we will be staying overnight. we cant go back home as need to visit other temples for other parigarams as well.
    2) should we leave or throw away the clothes that we wear during the pooja or we can re-use the clothes?
    3) where is the best place to perform the pooja, inside or outside? as I understand if you pay 1500/- you are allowed to perform pooja inside the temple.

    1. Dear Tara
You can stay in a hotel during the night. That’s not a problem. From there you can go visit to other temples to perform any other Parigarams. But remember to reach your Birth Place – House or your living place, not to any friends or relatives house after all your parigarams. You need not throw off the clothes. You can go for the Rs.1500 Ticket as it gives the realtime vibration for you.
I can also suggest some other Temples / Poojas to get a child. MOPI DEVI SUBRAHMANYA SWAMY TEMPLE (Lord Murugan) I came to know that number of devotees believe the God blesses the devotees with a child of sure. just perform a pooja and stay in the temple for a night and again a dharshan and go to your home after a
request of your desire (BABY). How to reach this Temple Place: It is about 50 km away from Vijayawada city via Kankipadu and Challapalli in between Vijayawada –
Avanigadda road line. The nearest Railway station is Repalle. Share autos are available from the station directly to the temple takes 20 minutes to reach.

  20. Hi Sir, Am 24 years old and am getting married on 30-01-2015, few years back when my amma had shared my jathakam with an astrologer he has suggested that me and the groom visit kalashasti , stay for a night , take a shower and discard our old clothes the next day.
He didnt confirm any dhosham as such. We are planning on performing this now ,however not sure on how exactly to execute this and also not aware of which pooja is to be done.

It will be really helpfull for us if you could let us know what pooja we have to do and if we will have to stay overnight , wake up the next morning perform pooja , then take a shower and discard clothes.

    1. Miss. Kavya. K
Since the Temple is closed during the NIGHT, you cannot stay in the Temple, to get the vibrations. Staying in a hotel for a night and discarding your clothes wont fetch you anything as it a general place, not a Temple. No Need to have a Bath or Discard your cloths. It’s a foolish act. You can perform Rahu Kethu Pooja , Rudhra Abhishekam for Lord Shiva. That’s not a problem. You are going to do a pooja for the sake of GOOD. for more clarifications you can call to the priest. check your mail for the mobile number.
Rudrabhishekam **** Rs. 600.00 Starts at 07.00 AM Inwards 4 Persons Allowed
Firstly : Sankalpam at Sri Swamy Sannidhi
Secondly : Abhishekam for Sri Gnana Prasunambika Devi.
Thirdly : Abhishekam for Srikalahasteeswara Swamy & Prasadam receiving.
      Rahu Kethu Pooja Ticket – Rs. 1500, 750 & 300.
Ticket – It’s an open counter. No pre-booking only in person booking. To get the Rahu Kala Pooja ticket, you must be near the counter two hours before the Rahu Kalam.
My suggestion – Worshipping Lord Ardhanaareeshwara (form of Lord Shiva) give good result of peace of mind during your conjugal life.
Performing Kalyanothsavam in Sree Kalahasthi Temple or in Srinivasa Mangapuram in Chandragiri near Thirupathi also is suggestable for a peaceful life.
      Regards and Happy Married Life.
      Om Namah Shivaya

  21. Dear Sir, on the advise from the priest at the Kalahasteshwar Temple near my house in Bangalore, we performed Kalinga Sarpa Pooja on Saturday during Rahu kalam. After the Pooja, we were told to go straight to our home and also to not yet Drumstick, Snake Gourd or Vermicelli for next 25 days.

Just curious to know if this is part of the custom to be followed after Pooja and what is the intent in avoiding eating these vegetables? Any other custom to be followed after Pooja?

    Thanks in advance.

    1. Dear Mr. Shekar
I did not hear anything like this,Priests who recites the manthras for the Rahu Kethu Pooja saying SUCH a Custom. This is the first time
seeing or hearing such a custom of not to eat VEGETABLES.
      1. You should not visit any of your friends or relatives houses on the way to your home after finishing the pooja.
      2. If wish to visit a Vaishnava Temple, you should take a head bath and then proceed. That’s it.
Are the two customs which is being suggested after performing the pooja. You may call the Temple officials for better clarity on to this matter – 08578 222240.

      1. Yes sir. This was told to me after performing the Pooja. I was wondering if it was because thse food items resemble a snake in their shape and thought of getting my debt clarified. Thanks for your response. So, apart from the two points you mentioned, no abstinence or nishtas required in any other matter after doing this Pooja know?

        1. Dear Sekar
Yes i also think the same reg the vegitables.
The only nishta is after performing the pooja do go to any relatives or friends houses. other than this nothing is is there to follow.

  22. Hello Sir,

I am from Chennai. Me and my friend have planned to do Raghu Kethu Pooja on 12-30-2014 between 3.00PM – 4.30PM. And also, planned to buy Rs-750.00. Pls suggest me, at what time we should be there to buy the tickets?

    1. Dear Mr. G. Shyam
Execution is our duty. Result is decided by the Lord on the basis of your Karma which you have done. One gets immediately, the other get delay in getting the result. Om Namah Shivaya

  23. Sir my name is radhika,

i am planning to perform kala sarpa dosham and rahukethu pooja with my son and daughter.

i have one doubt we are purchased tickets 3 or only one.

pooja is performed with my son and my daughter and my name also.

kala sarpa dosham and rahu kethu pooja they different or same.

    please tell me details sir.

    1. Dear Mrs. Radhika Sudha
Rahu is the head part and while Kethu is the tail part of the divine Serpent (Snake), one who killed a snake knowingly or unknowingly they are supposed to acquire the Sarpa Dosham. At Sree Kalahasthi every Dosha Nivarana pooja comes under the Rahu Kethu Pooja. For one Ticket only one person is allowed for the Rahu Kethu Pooja. If you want to perform pooja for both of your childrens, then should buy one ticket each.

  24. Respected sir,
Me and my Fiance are going to get married soon.
We both have done Rahu kethu pooja individually.
Do we need to do it again..once got married.
We are planning to do the kalyanotsavam in tirumala. i live in Sydney Australia.
Not sure to plan which one first Tirumala or kalahasthi???
We both got told to do this pooja…She is done with her just recently and same with me.
so do we need to do this again together after marriage please reply…
    much appreciated.
    Om Namahshivaya!

    1. Dear Mr. Arvind
You can very well do the pooja when ever you want to. But remember that your fiancé should perform the pooja before or after eight days of her regular dates.
Some Astrologers says that if the Rahu Kethu pooja is done for every six months – like during the Uttarayana (mid Jan to mid July) and the next six months of Dakshinayana (mid July to mid Jan), it gives excellent result.
You can perform the Kalyana Uthsavam before or after Rahu Kethu pooja. But remember to take a head bath before entering any pooja.

  25. Dear Sir,

Myself & My brother wants to perform Rahu Kethu pooja at kalahasti on 5th January. We do not eat outside food.I wants know if there is any accommodation available with kitchen facility (like cottages)? Is temple provides separate food facility for brahmins?

    Thanks in advance

    1. Dear Mr Nagaraj
The Temple Devasthanam is providing food (Annadhaan) facility behind the Temple. I think that will match you, because they wont cook non veg. There are some Cottages belongs to the Temple available for the devotees to stay on a nominal fee and plenty of Private lodges are there, Star hotels too.
Anyhow you can contact a Temple Priest who can suggest you if any other info you want. check ur mail for phone number

  27. Dear Sir,

I have Kala Sarpa Dosha and our astrologer suggested to perform Rahu Kethu Shanthi on Tuesday at 3 to 4:30 PM. In most of the comments above, you mentioned that Monday is the best day. And also my 2 and half year daughter have the same Dosha. Do she need to perform the same Pooja at Kalahasthi?

    Thanks in Advance.

    1. Dear Mr. Aiyappa
Based on the problem you are facing and as per the Planetary Chart (Jathak Chart), the Astrologer told you to perform the pooja on Tuesday right. So just follow him. Tuesday is also the auspicious day to perform. Normally our scriptures say to pray the Naga Devatha during the Rahu Kalam of Tuesdays. Perform pooja for the Naga Devatha with a Lamp (Gingelly oil) for
consecutive 8 weeks and then Tuesdays and on the 9th Tuesday perform the Kaala Sarpa Dosha Nivarani at Sree Kalahasthi or Kukke Subrahmanya Swamy Temple near Bengaluru. Pls chk your mail

  30. Hi,
I want to do pooja for unmarried to get married.
Which pooja I should do and I what procedure should be followed.
    I have queries like,
    1) Dress code
    2) Puja timings on 24th Wednesday and Thursday 25th
    3) After pooja can I go my sister house (she is pregnant) , how safe is to visit her house.
    4) Can I do the pooja after lunch ?
    5) should we leave the dress and have bath after pooja ?
    6) Pooja ticket sold at some counter or should be booked online ?
    7) pooja samagri ?

Can you please answer these queries

    1. Dear Mr. Harish
Rahu Kethu Pooja on Monday or Tueday gives good result for unmarried people to get married. If it is not possible, you can perform on other days also.
Traditional dress is mandatory. For men dhoti, shirt or kurta pajama for women churidar or saree. no jeans no leggings.
Puja timings on 24th Wednesday – 12 pm to 01.30 pm and Thursday 25th 01.30 pm to 03.00 pm.
First go to your sister’s house and visit the Kalahasthi Temple and from here to your house.
You can do the pooja at any time. Not required to leave the dress or have bath after pooja. Just go straight to your home.
It is an open counter only. No online facility is there. You should reach the Ticket Counter in person two hours prior to the Rahu Kalam Time or at any time according to your feasibility. The Devasthanam issue the samagri on purchasing the Ticket. It’s Two Naga Hoods and some flowers and a Melvasthra. Also I can suggest you to do – Worship Naga Devatha by flaming a Lamp (Gingely oil), on every Tuesdays for 9 weeks.
Visit Srinivasa Mangapuram and perform the Kalyana Uthsavam and tie the Kankanam which they give. Believed to happens one’s desire on doing the above two.

      1. Thanks for your detailed reply.

a small change in date happened and I am planning to visit the temple on 4th Jan.
Can you please share the puja timings on Sunday 4th Jan 2015.

        1. Dear Mr.Harish
Sunday Rahu Kala Timings – 04.30 pm to 06.00 pm. You should reach the ticket counter 2hrs prior to rahu kala time, as it is a holiday devotee’s throng in there. Ticket cost is Rs.1500, 750,300 respectively. You need not carry any thing as the Devasthanam give the pooja samagri.

    1. Dear Mr Paramesh
Traditional dress is mandatory. For men dhoti, shirt or kurta pajama for women churidar or saree. no jeans no leggings.
For one Ticket one is allowed to perform the Pooja, if your brother also want to do the pooja, he should buy another Ticket. If not for pooja and want to go for the Dharshan only, he is allowed.

  32. sir,
I want to perform kala sarpha dosha shanti at kalahasti on 9th January 2015 which is a friday, is it a good for performing puja?

kindly let me know whether we need advance booking for pooja to be performed on that particular day

And also want to know whether after the pooja can I visit Mahalakshmi temple at Kolhapur. Please advise.

    1. Dear Anjali Madam
Monday Rahu Kala Time @ 07.30 am to 09.00 am is said to be the auspicious day to perform the Kaala Sarpa Dosha Nivarani or Shanti.
You can also perform the pooja on Sunday and Tuesday also. If that is also not possible, you can do on the rest of the days.
There is no Advanced Booking. You have to come in person to buy the Ticket, minimum two hours prior to the Rahu Kala Time.
You should not visit any temples and should go straight to your home only is said by some Astrologers and the Temple officials says that can visit any temples, but not to the Friends or Relatives houses. If this pooja is for your marriage problem, then i could suggest the Kaathyaayani Vrath. For more details you may visit our Blog. This Vrath was done by the Gopikas or the Vrindhavan in Mathura and got married to Lord Sree Krishna.

  33. Dear Sir

We are planning for Rahu Kethu Dosha Nivarana Pooja at Srikalahasthi. We have planned in such a way that first we are visiting Tirumala on saturday and coming back to Tirupathi on sunday. On sunday, we are planning for Rahu Kethu Dosha Nivarana Pooja at Srikalahasthi during Raahu Kaalam . After the pooja, we would go back to hotel, stay for the day and next day we are planning to go to Kalyana Venkateshwara Swamy, at Srinivasa Mangapuram. We are also planning to get Kalyana Kankanams tied, for me and for my sister ( both unmarried ). Can we do that ? It is said that after Rahu Kethu pooja, one should directly go to home. Can we come back to hotel on that day & visit Srinivasa Mangapuram on the next day ? Can unmarried people perform the Rahu Kethu Pooja ? Can myself & my sister perform Rahu Kethu Pooja independently ? Please guide us .

    1. Dear Mr. PVG Rao
Some Astrologers and Priests says that after performing the Rahu Kethu Pooja, you should not visit any Vaishnava Temple (Rama, Krishna, Venkateshwara etc). But some Priests and temple officials says that you can visit any temple but do not visit any of your friends or relatives house except to your house. There is no confirmed practice on to this matter. To me I can say NO to Srinivasa Mangapuram because if any thing happens in the future, let us not hit our head “might happened because of this”. Prevention is better. If you are very particular about doing the Rahu Kethu Pooja on sunday, try this plan. Better first finish attending the Kalyanothsavam at Mangapuram. From there go to Thirumala. Get the Dharshan for the night in between next day morning 10 am. You should reach Sree Kalahasthi by 01.30 pm, so that only you can buy ticket to enter in the Rahu Kalam Time. But I don’t whether tieing the Kankan can one sit in the Rahu Kala Nivarana Pooja or not. Anybody can perform the Rahu Kethu Pooja except the children. For one Ticket you buy from the Ticket Counter (open counter) one can perform the pooja. For your sister buy another ticket. Or you may come and perform the pooja on Monday. Actually, To perform the Rahu Kala Nivarana Pooja – Monday Rahu Kala Time @ 07.30 am to 09.00 am is the best time and day and then Sunday is the secondary day to do it. Sree Kalahasthi Temple number – 08578 222240

      1. Sir, thank you very much for your reply. But there seems to be little confusion. Actually we are planning Rahu Ketu Dosa Nivarana pooja on sunday during Rahu kaal and after pooja, we would go to our hotel room at Tirupathi. Next day morning, i.e., on monday, after taking bath, we shall go to Srinivasa Mangapuram, and get the Kalyana Kaappu tied for myself & my sister and return back to our home at Hyderabad, by evening. Can we do this. Please advise. Sorry for bothering you again, sir.

        1. Dear PVG Rao

To my knowledge when we perform the Rahu Kethu pooja, you will attain some divine vibrations from the temple and that should be carried to your living place where it stays for some days even after your bath. That’s why one performs pooja is suggested to go back to home. If you take bath in the hotel you are supposed to leave the vibrations there. It’s an opinion by some whom I spoke with and mine also. Anyhow I give you the Temple Priest Number. You may contact him about your clarifications. check your mail for phone number. Recently I have studied that to get married for girls one can perform the KAATHYAAYANI Vratham. This should be done in the month of Marghasirsha (this month) for 30 days. According to the Hindu Sripture – Bhagawatha, the Gopika Paduchulu has done this pooja and attained Sree Krishna as their Husband. So better tell your sister to do this at least for the rest of the days of this month. We have elaborated about this Vratham in our Blog. Please go through it and get the benefits.

  34. Hi

    1. Dear Mr. Kaviyarasan

      Thank you for your comment.
You can offer your hairs in the Temple in the kalyanakatta mandap, near Patala ganapathi. It comes after entering the second South face Gopuram (entrance) to your Right side. The charges would be Rs. 20 only.

  35. Dear Sirs

    Namaskarams,

I want to perform Rahu-Ketu Puja on 22nd December 2014 (Monday). Can I buy online tickets ? Or Should I buy tickets only on the temple counters ? Please advice.

    Warm Regards and Respects
    Devesh Shah

    1. Dear Mr. Deevsh Shah
Online booking is not available for rahu ketu pooja. you have to take the ticket at the ticket counter near the temple. Try to be there at least one and half hour before the pooja.

  36. Hi,
My husband has sarpdosh and we hav planned to visit sri kalahasti temple tomorrow for pooja. My son is under 2 years . Can we make him sit for the pooja.

  37. Hello,

I want to perform shani dosha nivarana pooja.I will be coming to tirupati on saturday(20-12-2014).My darshan is fixed on 20-12-2014.

I would like to know details about it.

Is shani dosha/rahu ketu pooja both are same?

Is there any dress code for it? Pant&shirt is o.k or dhoti has to be wore.

What are the ticket prizes. Is online booking available for it?

What are the timings of pooja? Is it performed on amavasyas?

After performing pooja can i visit other temples?

What is the tradition to be followed after performing pooja?

    Regards,
    Krishnam

    1. Dear Mr. Krishnama Raju
      1) Saturday Rahu Kalam time is 09.00 am to 10.30 am. To start the pooja at 07 hrs you should reach the ticket counter (inside the temple) at 06.30 amd in between 07.00 am. The pooja time is 40 minutes. The Dharshan of the Lord and Goddess varies from one to two hrs depend on the crowd.Sunday Rahu Kalam time is 04.30 pm to 06.00 pm. You should there before 3 hours at the ticket counter as it is a holiday.
      2) shani dosha/rahu ketu pooja, both are different. Shani Dosha is acquired by 1) bad practices of Dharma, 2) if you jumped or crossed the place where others finished / left their Shani dosha Nivarani materials on the roads, it catches you if the gods are not in a favour to you. And so on reasons are there. About Kaala Sarpa Dosha – having no one of the other seven Planets among the Nine, resides in between the house of the Rahu and the Kethu houses you are said to be acquired with Rahu Kethu Dosha.
      3) Cost of Tickets -Rs. 2500, 1500, 700 and 350. The Temple Authority will give the two metal snake hoods for which you are required to perform the pooja along reciting the manthras which is recited by the priest.
      4) a) Some says that must not visit Vishnu Avathar Temples, b) some says that can visit any temples but not visit friends or relatives homes. Some says that should go straight to one’s home only. There is no confirmed information about this question. But the Temple officials also agree with (b).
5)Traditional dress is mandatory. For men dhoti, shirt or kurta pajama for women churidar or saree. no jeans no leggings.

  38. since 4 years my wife is not getting job and also no peace in my house. my son DOB : 06/06/2012 @6 am, mula nakshatra.4th padam.. prefered letters are ba,bi,yo… but i named as a sanjith….now is around 2.6 yrs he is not speaking…name changes is required..?…wether naming with birthstar is good..?

what pooja i have to do for my son and wife…?

    1. Dear Mr. Vishwanath.
Sorry to say that I am not an Astrologer. But I could suggest you that, problem in getting a Job may arise due to Shani Dosha or Rahu Kethu Dosha. It can be revealed only by seeing the Astrological House Chart. So better consult a good Astrologer near by you. To do Shani Dosha Nivarani pooja at this temple, Saturday Rahu Kalam Time (09.00 to 10.30 am) is the best day. For Rahu Kethu – According to the problem you suffer with the day to perform the pooja differs from Monday Rahu kalam Time (07.30 to 09.00 am) and Sunday at 04.30 to 06.00 pm you can do it. I heard that Moola Nakshathra is not a good star that gives fortunes for the life. Most of those who have this Birth star suffers in their life. Check thoroughly about your child Horoscope with an Astrologer or a Horoscope specialist.
Why did you change your sons name. My suggestion is better change his name according to his so said letters and see to that the name should contain the meaning of your family deity. Also check with the alphabetical numbers that derives out of the name of your child. Performing Navagraha pooja for your son fetches good vibrations for your child.
Why a name is said to be kept according to the Birth star words – Because when we call him with that name, the vibrations of the sound derived acts as like a cosmic sound for his physic.
Also see to that you are worshiping your family deity or not.
Check your mail for phone number.

As Monday is the best day rush will be there, so you should be there before one and half hour. If you want to go after tirupati dharsanam, you can do. Rahu Ketu pooja will be performed for the whole day.
No need to change the dress or leave the dress. You can go with the same dress after the pooja. Dont go to any relatives or friends houses.

    1. Hai Tiba
Just perform the Rahu Kethu Pooja on any Monday morning Rahu Kala Time 07.30 am to 09.00 am. You can buy the Ticket from the open counter in person. The Ticket counter is inside the Temple premises. you should be there near the
counter by 05.30 am. Then only you would be able to buy the ticket to sit in the first batch of the pooja. Tickets are Rs. 1500, 700 and 350 respectively. you need not carry anything. the Temple devasthanam gives two metal Snake Hoods for which you should perform the pooja. Worship of Ardhanareeshwara (Lord Shiva Parvathi) by reciting the Ardhanareeshwara Sthothram on every Monday evening in between 06 pm – 07 pm will give peace of mind in conjugal life. If this manthra is recited by both of you (yourself and wife), of sure Lord Shiva blesses you peace of mind very soon.

    Thanks & Regards
    Sriniva

    1. Dear Mr. Srinivasa Rao
You wrote that you have done pooja previously. But did not mentioned on which day you have performed the pooja for what problem like for Delay of Marriage, no Improvement in Career, etc. Because depending on the problem the day to perform the Rahu Kethu pooja differs. You can call him and clarify your doubts.(Check mail for the phone number)
Also ask your Astrologer or with other Astrologer whether you have a Normal Kala Sarpa Dosham or Maha Kala Sarpa Dosham. Because for Maha Kala Sarpa Dosham one priest told to me that performing the pooja on to set free from the Maha Kala Sarpa or Naga Dosha, the best days are the Nagulachavithy and Nagula Pachami to offer pooja to Lord Naga or Nageshwar, the Godfather for Snakes.
      (or)
Performing pooja to Lord Naga or Nageshwar on the day of Nagulachavithy and the 12 consecutive Sukla Paksha Panchami days one can set free from the Naga or Sarpa Dosham completely. The first eleven times you can perform in a normal temple nearby. The 12th time you perform the pooja at Sree KalaHasthi Temple. That will be good to get relief completely. Also the family flourishes with good Health and Wealth if one perform pooja to Lord Naga on every Tuesday in the Rahukalam time for 9 weeks. You can also install a Naga Hood form on the 9th week. For this pooja consult that temple poojari. You can also try one temple which is Mopi Devi Subramanya swamy, 50 km away from Vijayawada city via Kankipadu and Challapalli in between Vijayawada – Avanigadda road line. The nearest Railway station is Repalle. Share autos are available from the station directly to the temple takes 20 minutes to reach. This is also one of the Temple where you can perform the Rahu Kethu pooja. Lord Subrahmanya has six heads and so called as Shanmukha that represent he is the lord of the Six Chakras of the Human. The Nine Planets mainly shows their effect on these six Chakras to make you faults that leads to problems in your life. Also pruanas said that worshipping Lord Subrahmanya gives equal results praying Lord Shiva Parvathi. Lord Shiva is said to be the controllers of the the Naga. So please try to visit this temple. Lord Subrahmanya is mainly worshipped by many devotees to attain a male child.

  47. I plan to perform the Rahu Ketu Pooja for my Kids at Srikalahasti Temple. I have read at many places that after the Rahu Ketu Pooja is done, one has to go back to their homes directly and not visit any friends or relatievs home.

I wanted to know, whether can i visit Tirumala and have darshan of Sri Venkateshwara Swamy after Rahu Ketu Pooja and then visit any relatives home or proceed to home directly even after darshan of Sri Venkateshwara Swamy. Please clarify.

    1. Dear Mr.Kumar
After Rahu ketu pooja, you can go to Sri Venkateshwara Swamy dharshan. But dont go to any relatives house. If you want to go better go before performing the pooja.
