Sri Kolavizhi Amman Temple or Bhadrakali Amman Temple is situated in G.N. Chetty Street in Mylapore, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Pattu Kolavizhi Amman, a form of Mother Sakthi. It is believed that those who worship in this temple will be healed of all diseases and will be blessed with peace and prosperity. The deity of this temple is believed to be in the form of Suyambu and is known for her love and affection towards the devotees.

The Temple is facing north with an entrance arch. Saptamatrikas images are on the compound walls. The temple and presiding deity are also facing north. In the sanctum, Amman’s statue is on the back side wall with 8 hands holding different weapons.

Devotes believes that Lord Shiva stayed in Mylapore after obtaining permission from Kolavizhi Amman. According to historians, the Koba Muzhi Amman was corrupted by Kolavizhi Amman. In 1855 CE, a British officer from Fort St George came to Amman to pray from this temple to be cured of his eye problem.

During Kapaleeswarar temple Brahmotsavam celebrations preference is given first to Kolavizhi Amman. Panguni brahmotsavam of Kapaleeswarar temple will start after doing pooja to this Pidari Kolavizhi Amman. The flag will be hoisted after doing pooja, for which the astram/Soolam will be brought from Kapaleeswarar Temple to this Amman temple for pooja. In 63var processions, Kolavizhi Amman leads first, followed by Vinayagar and Sri Kapaleeswarar.
