Chennur Agastheeswara Swamy Temple is located on the bank of river Godavari in Chennuru Town, Adilabad, Telangana State. Here the Godavari river flows from east to west. Generally, all the south Indian rivers flow from West to East. Lord Shiva is worshipped as Agastheeswara Swamy in this temple. Sage Agasthya Maharshi installed this lingam and did poojas to the Shivalinga’s on his journey from Kasi to Dakshina yatra. The temple was built in the 13th century by Kakatiya kings.
