Sita Navami or Janaki Navami celebrates the birth of Goddess Sita, who is said to be an incarnation of Goddess Laxmi.

Sita Navami is observed on the ninth (Navami) day of Vaishaka month in the Hindu lunisolar calendar.
What is Subh Sita Navami Significance:
- The festival celebrates the life and qualities of Goddess Sita, who was fearless, devoted, and in harmony with nature. Her duty towards her husband, Bhagwan Rama, and her trust and belief in him is what prevailed.
- Swami Vivekananda stated, “Think of the terrible injustice of her being exiled to the forest! But Sita knows no bitterness.” When Goddess Sita was captured by Ravana, she showed her dedication to Lord Rama and remained peaceful and confident in her husband.
Subh Sita Navami Celebrations:
- The festival is celebrated with Rama Sita Puja and Bhajana (hymns). Married and engaged women also fast and pray for marital bliss, their husbands’ wellbeing, strength, and motherhood.
- People also pray to Mother Earth, as Sita Devi is associated with Mother Earth. Devotees pray for prosperity, abundance, and wealth.
