Yamuna Chhath or Yamuna Jayanti is observed in the Chaitra Month Shukla paksha Sashti Tithi. It is believed that she appeared there that day. It falls on the sixth day of Chaitra Navratri. It is mainly celebrated in Mathura and Vrindavan towns. People worship Goddess Yamuna on this day and ask for happiness and prosperity in their life. Goddess Yamuna is worshiped as the consort of Sri Krishna. Devotees wake up early in the morning and take a spiritual bath in the Yamuna River. Bathing in the Yamuna River, devotees can purify their soul. Devotees are quick to observe on this day. A special naivety is offered to the goddess Yamuna. After Puja, food is given to the Brahmins.
