Tirumala, 6 July 2015:
The Malayappa Swamy’s annual festival of Anivara Asthanam will be observed in the famous tirumala hill temple from July 17 2015.
This annual festival is one of the most important festival among the series of all other festivals that are being observed with religious pomp and gaiety every year on the auspicious time of the Sun entering the asterism of Karkataka in the constellation.
The importance of this festival is the past year’s total accounts of the TTD office are kept infront of the Sri Veskateshwara Swamy by the main officers and are returned back to same place. New booka are also issued for the current year. This is a routine process so the ‘Lord’ checks the officers fit enough to hold their respective positions.
Between 7.00 am to 9.00 am this whole process is performed in the sanctum sanctorum near Bangaru Vakili in the presence of processional deity with his two companions and Viswaksenulavaru and is called “Asthanam”
Nijapada Darshanam and other Arjitha Sevas are cancelled by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam in connection with this festival on July 17. The procession of Pushpa Pallaki between 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm will be performed.
The temple cleaning festival of Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam will be on July 14 in connection with this annual festival inside the tirumala temple.
