Founder Srila Prabhupada:
A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Founding Acarya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, was born in 1896 in Calcutta, India.
His father Gour Mohan De and his mother Rajani De have cultivated it with love as a devotee of Lord Krishna. At the age of 26, he met his spiritual master; Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Goswami who consolidated the spiritual culture he had absorbed from his parents and asked him to spread it in the English-speaking world.
It was then that after a life of preparation at the age of 70, Srila Prabhupada went to America to establish the International Society for Krishna Consciousness.
Between 1966 and 1977, he performed extraordinary feats as a pure representative of the Supreme Personality of God Lord Krishna in spreading Krsna consciousness throughout the world.
On November 14, 1977, he left this world and, nevertheless, continues to live here in his teachings, in his society and in the hearts of his disciples, where we can find him today.
