Jonnawada Sri Kamakshi Temple or Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Kamakshi Tayee Temple is a famous temple dedicated to the goddess Kamakshi Amma (Parvathi Devi) and Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy (Sri Shiva), one of the variations of Shakti, is situated on the banks of Penna River, 12 km from the heart of Nellore Town in Andhra Pradesh.
The temple entrance door, Dwaja Sthabham and the gopuram of the temple adorning five Kalasams on the top are made out of gold. The statue of the goddess Kamakshi Devi who is greatly adorned the traditional way by the priests is stunning for any devotee or visitor; everyone would like to revisit this place of glowing divine radiance which can be self-experienced only.
Nellore is 175 km from Chennai, 134 km from Tirupati and 174 km from Kadapa. Nellore can be easily reached from all majour cities.
