Kanchipuram Sri Jagadeeshwarar Temple or Thiru Neeragam is an ancient Sri Vishnu temple is located in Big Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu State. Kanchi Sri Kamakshi Amman Temple is 350 mt and Kanchipuram Athivarathar Temple is 150 mt from Ulagalantha Perumal Temple. The Moolavar is Sri Jagadeeswarar also called Neeragathan and Thayar is Sri Nilamangai Valli / Nachiyar. This Sri Jagadeeshwarar is found inside Ulagalantha Perumal temple or Ooragathan Temple.
This is the 47th kshetram of 108 divya desam and mangalasasanam was done by Thirumangai Azhwar. The Neeragam Sannadhi is facing south in the outer prakaram. The old Moola vigraham was not found, instead, Urchavars are only kept in the sanctum. Neeragathan has given darshan to Akroorar. Pushkarani is Akroora Theertham.
The Lord is said to fulfil the wishes of unmarried girls and childless couples.

Neer, water is the main element and necessary for the survival of all things in this world. To explain this, the Perumal gives his Seva as “Jagadeswar Perumal”. The Perumal is also called “Thiru Neeragathan” found with “Nilamangai valli Thaayar”.
All the water rushes to the place where there is a small groove or hole. In the same way, Emperumaan flows into the hearts of the bhaktas and fills their soul with bhakti. Neer, the water is said to be fresh and cool by nature. Similarly, Emperumaan gives the best blessings to his devotees.
All living things need water to live and, at the same time, the body is also purified with water. In explaining this, he tells both the Atma and the human body to purify themselves and attain Moksha, that we need his help and support.
Even if there is a small hole in the pot, water will flow into it. Likewise, if even the smallest level of bhakti is in the hearts of his bhaktas, he will flow into us. But at the same time, if we don’t think and pray, he will go out like water coming out of the little hole in the pot.
Water is flowing in all regions. It does not consider the highlands or the lowlands to flow. Likewise, before Sri maha Vishnu, all are one and there is no higher than the other.
