Peravali Sri Ranganatha Swamy Temple Timings, History

The Peravali Sri Ranganatha Swamy temple is located in the village of Peravali, Maddikera, Kurnool. Sri Maha vishnu is in the form of Salagramasila. Those of Salagramasila are sacred black stones that come from the Gandaki river valley of the Himalayas. Peravali is one of the regions rich in diamonds. In the ancient shrine, Sri Vishnu was the presiding deity with his wife Sri Mahalakshmi Ammavaru. Every year a large number of devotees visit this temple to have lords darshan.

This temple was built by Vijayanagara rulers. The Vijayanagara emperors were great worshippers of Sri Vishnu, their devotion to the god is seen by the Architecture wonders and temples they created for their deity. The temple surrounding is beautiful, strong enclosures and consists of an Anti-Chamber, a Sanctum and a porch. The Rajagopuram of the temple is constructed in cholas Style. This temple is an outstanding example of the Vijayanagara Emperors’ art and architecture.
