It is a very beautiful spot located about 4 km from Srisailam. It is said that Sri Adisankara performed penance at this place before composing the famous ‘Sivanandalahari’. It is in a narrow valley which can be approached by a flight of steps, where the atmosphere is vibrating with pleasing musical sounds of the subterranean streams of pure water. These streams are known as ‘Phaladhara-Panchadhara’. ‘Phala’ means forehead and ‘dhara’ means stream, and hence ‘Phaladhara’ signifies their origin from the forehead of God Siva. ‘Pancha’ means five and ‘Panchadhara’ denotes the five aspects of Siva. Water uninterruptedly flows from this stream at all seasons.
