Poyyamani Saibaba Temple or Poyyamani Sri Sai Spiritual Centre is in Poyyamani village, Kulithalai Taluk, Trichy, Tamil Nadu. With the blessing of Baba and Swamiji, Sri Sai Spiritual Center (SSSC) inaugurated its third Shirdi Sai Mandir and this time in Poyyamani village, Tamil Nadu during the month of Jyeshta (June).
Poyyamani is the birthplace of H.H Radhakrishna Swamiji and is located in Kulithali taluk, very close to the main town of Trichy. Swamiji spent his early years in Poyyamani and during this time he had various divine interventions such as meeting Goddess Kamakshi or embracing Shiva linga when upset. Later in his life, Swamiji chose not to talk too much about his birthplace with his devotees, as he had given up all worldly attachments when he met Narashima Swamiji and decided to surrender to Baba and his devotee. But his followers wanted to pay homage to his guru and this led to the construction of the Poyyamani temple.
Swamiji’s ancestral home where he was born has been completely renovated and preserved as a ‘heritage site’ and various images of Swamiji’s participation in major Sai prachar events are on display to help the new generation of Sai devotees visualize the life of Swamiji.
The Prana Prathishtapana of Sri Sai Baba, H.H Narasimha Swamiji and H.H Radhakrishna Swamiji followed by the Kumbhabhisheka to the idols and gopuram were performed at this new mandir on a very grand scale with over 5000 devotees attending the event and welcoming this new monument to their community. H.H Sri Sri Vidya Shankars Saraswathi Swamigal of Sri Vidhya Narasimha Ashram, Nerur graced the occasion and Gurubaktha Siromani S Kalyanasundara Sivacharya, Principal, Kumbakonam Agama Patasala performed the pooja, Homam and Kumbhabhisheka rituals.
Following the tradition of Swamiji guidance, and as in the other centers of Thyagarajanagar and Vasanthapura, this new mandir of Poyyamani will perform all 4 Sai Baba aartis and also support various charitable and community activities that will benefit the Saibandhus in the larger Trichy region. . .
