Los Angeles Shree Swaminarayan Temple Inauguration:
This is the fifth temple of (I.S.O.O.) Original Swaminarayan Sampraday inaugurated in the United States. The idol of Lord Harikrishna Maharaj in this temple has been installed by His Holiness 1008 Shri Tejendraprasadji Maharaj with a divine embrace and full of emotion.
Los Angeles Shree Swaminarayan Temple History:
Satsang in the Los Angeles, California, area started in 1978 with the first visit of His Holiness 1008 Shree Tejendrapadadji Maharaj to the United States. Supporters decided they wanted a beautiful Mandir to enrich their children with culture, spirituality and devotion. Many difficulties arose in the construction of the divine mandir of Shree Hari (Temple) in Norwalk, but with the blessings of Bhagavan Swaminarayan, the construction ended on December 10, 2000. The Shree Swaminarayan Temple in Los Angeles is a divine gift from ‘Akshardham for the devoted followers of Original Sampraday in this area.
The procession with the divine idols Started in the parking lot of the Cerrito collage. Extraordinary floats have been designed for His Holiness and also for the saints. When the procession approached the temple, many worshipers danced with the name of Shri Hari. At the approach of the procession, the devotees immersed themselves in Shri Hari’s murti. The procession lasted more than five hours with the divine presence of Shri Hari.
The idol ceremony in the temple was celebrated with great splendor in the presence of thousands of people from across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and India.
Individuals from all cultures and backgrounds came to the temple for holi darshan of Lord Shree Swaminarayan.
