Sri Kattamaisamma Mahalakshmi Temple History:
96 years ago, the Hyderabad public school, the Begumpet branch was under construction. At that time, Ammavaru asked the contractor to build a temple for her in his dream. Katta Maisamma added that Amavaru would like to settle there to save people forever. The entrepreneur woke up in the morning and told his dreams to the people around. Immediately they built a small temple and placed the deity of the ammavaru stone. They began to pray and praise Maisamma ammavaru. As the days passed … suddenly, on one morning, a channel formed on the south side of the temple. The people at first surprised to see the canal and were very happy. They built houses near a canal. In the rainy season, the water entered their house. All the people went out and prayed Maisamma Ammavaru. Then the water came back immediately. Since that day, they called Ammavaru as “Kalavareti Maisamma”. Kalavareti Maisamma appeared as Mahalakshmi Devi.
