Triad Hindu Temple History:

The HSNC Triad Center is located at 2424 Huffine Mill Road, McLeansville, NC 27301 (NE Greensboro, North Carolina). The center was founded in 1979 with the mission of serving the Hindu community and promoting Hindu culture through religious, social and educational activities. Events such as puja, bhajans, children’s program, celebration of festivals and community services are regularly organized. We proudly celebrated the 30th anniversary of our existence in 2009. This milestone was accomplished through the vision of the founders, the support of HSNC sponsors and volunteers for all these years.

Triad Hindu Temple Bal Vihar:

The purpose of Balvihar is to develop an awareness of our Hindu cultural and spiritual heritage, traditions, and values. Through the medium of stories, bhajans, shlokas, Vedas, crafts and games, children learn the tenets of Sanatana Dharma. Additional purpose is to instill pride and confidence in our children about their identity.
Balvihar meets twice a month at the temple on Sundays (10:30 am-12:30 pm). We welcome children aged 5 and older to enroll in Balvihar.
Balvihar Enrollments and renewals are done in January. Enrollment is now closed for 2017.
Please check the temple calendar for Balvihar meeting dates. Any questions about Balvihar can be sent to hsncbalvihar@gmail.com

Triad Hindu Temple Urban Ministry:

As most of you know, serving dinner at the Urban Ministry has been an outreach program that Hindu Society has successfully undertaken for many years. We are proud that Hindu Society has been recognized for this program by the NC State Government. The Hindu Society has been given four days in the year (the fourth Wednesday in March, June, September and December) plus additional days based on interest/need to prepare and serve dinner for the homeless at the Urban Ministry’s Potter House at the intersection of Lee and Eugene. Each dinner is sponsored by a member of the community who with the help of the coordinator puts together a menu and buys the groceries. A team of enthusiastic volunteers of all ages, join in two shifts to prep, cook, serve and clean up after dinner. Sponsors and volunteers in the past have expressed a feeling of satisfaction of having given to the community and the sense of camaraderie they have experienced working with a group. The next Urban Ministry day will be updated soon. Some members are sponsoring this event. If you are willing to co-sponsor this or a future dinner, or help volunteer to cook/serve, please contact Nalini Sankar at 336-207-0999.

Triad Hindu Temple Teen Outreach:

In 2012, we introduced The President’s Volunteer Service Award. This is an opportunity for young or old to volunteer at the temple for few hours every week on Saturdays/Sundays and keep a record of your service hours. During THT Annual Day (in August), we will honor volunteers and distribute the awards after verification of your service hours.

Track your hours with a Record of Service: You can keep a record of your activities serving your community, your country and the world. As a recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award you receive one of the highest honors – presidential recognition. With that honor comes responsibility to your community, the nonprofit sector and the Office of the President of the United States. As a PVSA award recipient, it’s your duty to not only continue to a live a life of service and encourage others to follow in your footsteps, but also extend your service-minded values outside of your volunteer work as honorable and respectable citizens.

Any individual, family, or group can receive Presidential recognition for volunteering 100 hours or more over a 12-month period (September to August). Follow this link for additional details.
