॥ வைராக்³யபஞ்சகம் ॥
க்ஷோணீ கோண ஶதாம்ஶ பாலந கலா து³ர்வார க³ர்வாநல-
க்ஷுப்⁴யத்க்ஷுத்³ர நரேந்த்³ர சாடு ரசநா த⁴ந்யாந் ந மந்யாமஹே ।
தே³வம் ஸேவிதுமேவ நிஶ்சிநுமஹே யோঽஸௌ த³யாலு: புரா
தா³நா முஷ்டிமுசே குசேல முநயே த³த்தே ஸ்ம வித்தேஶதாம் ॥ 1 ॥
ஶிலம் கிமநலம் ப⁴வேத³நலமௌத³ரம் பா³தி⁴தும்
பய: ப்ரஸ்ருʼதி பூரகம் கிமு ந தா⁴ரகம் ஸாரஸம் ।
அயத்ந மல மல்லகம் பதி² படச்சரம் கச்சரம்
ப⁴ஜந்தி விபு³தா⁴ முதா⁴ ஹ்யஹஹ குக்ஷித: குக்ஷித: ॥ 2 ॥
ஜ்வலது ஜலதி⁴ க்ரோட³ க்ரீட³த்க்ருʼபீட³ ப⁴வ ப்ரபா⁴-
ப்ரதிப⁴ட படு ஜ்வாலா மாலாகுலோ ஜட²ராநல: ।
த்ருʼணமபி வயம் ஸாயம் ஸம்பு²ல்ல மல்லி மதல்லிகா
பரிமலமுசா வாசா யாசாமஹே ந மஹீஶ்வராந் ॥ 3 ॥
து³ரீஶ்வர த்³வார ப³ஹிர்விதர்தி³கா-
து³ராஸிகாயை ரசிதோঽயமஞ்ஜலி: ।
யத³ஞ்ஜநாப⁴ம் நிரபாயமஸ்தி மே
த⁴நஞ்ஜய ஸ்யந்த³ந பூ⁴ஷணம் த⁴நம் ॥ 4 ॥
ஶரீர பதநாவதி⁴ ப்ரபு⁴ நிஷேவணாபாத³நாத்
அபி³ந்த⁴ந த⁴நஞ்ஜய ப்ரஶமத³ம் த⁴நம் த³ந்த⁴நம் ।
த⁴நஞ்ஜய விவர்த⁴நம் த⁴நமுதூ³ட⁴ கோ³வர்த⁴நம்
ஸுஸாத⁴நமபா³த⁴நம் ஸுமநஸாம் ஸமாராத⁴நம் ॥ 5 ॥
நாஸ்தி பித்ரார்ஜிதம் கிஞ்சிந்ந மயா கிஞ்சிதா³ர்ஜிதம் ।
அஸ்தி மே ஹஸ்தி ஶைலாக்³ரே வஸ்து பைதாமஹம் த⁴நம் ॥ 6 ॥
॥ இதி வேதா³ந்த தே³ஶிகேந ரசிதம் வைரக்³யபஞ்சகம் ஸம்பூர்ணம் ॥
Vairagya Panchakam Lyrics Meaning:
The pride of those kings who rule bits of this earth grows like the wildfire,
And there are people, who praise them and think they are blessed,
But we think that service to god who is merciful will give us all our wants,
For did not sage Kuchela meet the Lord, with a fistful of pounded rice and become wealthy. || 1 ||
Even learned scholars pray the kings for filling their stomach,
Is not the spilled grain after a harvest sufficient for their needs?
Is not a palm-full of water sufficient to quench one’s thirst?
Is not the effortlessly collected cloth sufficient for a loincloth? || 2 ||
Even if the fire in my stomach burns intensely,
And equals the raging fire in the mid of ocean,
I will not ask even for a speck of dust from the king,
For my speech having the fragrance of jasmine flowers
Which open in the evening are reserved for our great Lord. || 3 ||
When I have the decorative black colored wealth,
Who sat in front of Arjuna in the battlefield,
Why should I sit in the periphery of the gate of kings,
And beg them for perishable wealth with hands held in salutation? || 4 ||
Wealth got by serving the rich till one’s body falls to the ground,
Is that wealth which will quell one’s hunger but is sorrow causing,
On the other hand, that wealth which made Arjuna great,
That wealth which made it possible to lift Govardhana and that which fills ones,
Mind with joy is the real good wealth, which one should possess. || 5 ||
I do not have any inherited wealth,
Nor have I earned any wealth,
But Brahma, the grandfather,
Has given to me as wealth, my Lord,
Who lives on the top of the Hasthi mountain*.

Salutations to Venkatesa who is the great teacher of Vedantha,

And posses all good qualities.
