Goddess Annapurna Devi Jayanti is celebrated yearly on Purnima/Pournami day in the month of Margashirsha as per Hindu lunar calendar. In Hinduism, the goddess Annapoorna, or Annapurna Devi, is the goddess of food. She is an avatar of the goddess Parvati devi; in essence, one of the many forms of Shakti. In this avatar, she feeds all living beings and, therefore, Hindus regard “Annam” (food) as sacred.
