Makaravilakku:
Makaravilakku, the annual festival of this temple bears a unique status. It comes in the month of January every year. As per the Malayalam Era, the first day of the Makaram Month is celebrated as the Makaravilakku in the temple. Thamaramkulangara Ayyappa Seva Samithy designs the programs of Makaravilakku in such a way to keep the holiness of the temple precincts.
The six day-long celebrations begin with the Holy Flag hoisting (Kodiyettam ) by Chief Priest ( Thantri) five days prior to the Makaravilakku day.
Dwaja Prathishta Dinam:
Dwaja Prathishta Dinam is the anniversary of the erection of the Holy Flag Post (Kodimaram) in the temple. It is celebrated every year on Meenam 11th as per the Malayalam calendar.
Meena Bharani:
Meena Bharani is celebrated with Pushpabhishekam, Kadumpaayasam nivedyam to Sree Bhadrakali.
Panguni Uthram:
Panguni Uthram is the Birthday of Lord Sree Dharmasastha. Uthram star in the month of Meenam, as per Malayalam era is celebrated as Panguni Uthram. Uthram Thiruanl Sadya, Sangeetharchana, Koottappa Nivedyam, Pushpabhishekam are the highlights of this festival.
Vishu Vilakku:
Vishu is celebrated on the first day of Medam as per Malayalam Calendar. Vishu is celebrated with Vishu Kani, Vishu Kaineettam and by conducting Maha Ganapathy Homam.
Karkidaka Niramala:
The temple is decorated with different types of flowers and traditional oil lamps on the last day of the Karkidakam month of the Malayalam Calendar. This day is celebrated as the Karkidaka Niramala.
Vinayaka Chathurthi:
A grand Maha Ganapathi Homam with 108 coconuts and other necessary offerings is conducted for the well-being of the land.
Nira Puthari:
Nira Puthari is normally celebrated on Uthradam Day of the Chingam month as per the Malayalam era.
Navarathri:
Navarathri is celebrated in the temple on the Durgashtami, Mahanavami and Vijayadasami day every year with cultural programs that cultivates Bhakti in the temple precincts and Vidyarambham is performed in the temple on VijayaDasami day. It’s considered very auspicious to have Vidyarambham in front of Lord Sree Dharmasastha.
Sasthaam Paattu:
Sasthaam Paattu is a traditional art found in central Kerala. It is also known as Ayyappan Paattu. It’s a musical art form in which a team of people singing songs praising Lord Ayyappa by playing a unique percussion instrument called ‘Udukku’. The main attraction among the songs is the song that describes the Birth of Lord Ayyappa.
In Thamaramkulangara, Sasthaam Paattu is Performed on the first Saturday of Vrischikam month as per the Malayalam era. At noon of Sasthaam Paattu day, Annadhaanam is performed to all the Devotees.
Kalamezhuthum Pattum:
Kalamezhuthum Pattum is done as an offering to Goddess Bhadrakali during one of the Fridays in the month of Vrischikam as per the Malayalam Calendar.
Ayyappan Kalamezhuthum Pattum is done as an offering to Lord Sree Dharmasastha on the subsequent Saturday.
Mandalavilakku:
Mandalavilakku is celebrated on the 41st day of the Mandalakaalam. Mandalakaalam begins on the first day of Vrischikam.
