The auspicious Ram Navami occasion is incomplete without chanting mantras or hymns. These mantra and hymns are dedicated to Lord Ram. On Sri Rama Navami the devotees read the Ramayana, epic on Ram’s life, written by Valmiki. The length of the epic might dissuade many followers. Hence, there are easier alternatives available for true believers.
Chanting name of Lord Ram [Ram Naam] is an act of devotion; divine hymn for him. An important mantra for Ram Navami is “Shri Ram, Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram”. The Thaaraka mantra also known as the Mantra Ra Ma is combination of two mantras. The mantras are combination of ‘Namasivaya Mantra’ and ‘Om Namo Narayanaya Maha Mantra’.
