Donating regional Cows (no to money), Naga Abharana (normally decorated on the Shiva Linga) also give good result. These are not compulsory but according to your financial position you may or may not. If done, it’s good.

Perform the pooja twice in a year. First in between jan – july and

Vrath details: “In the early morning of each Monday take a bathe and wear a pure white cloth. Take one kg of pure white wheat flour, mix with Jaggery and ghee and boil. Offer this ‘Churma’ along with a ghee lamp, as well as Jaggery, beetle nut, a sacred thread, sandal paste, some grains of rice and flowers. With these items especially, you worship Lord Shiva. You also adorn the Lord Shiva Nama with three lines horizontally and with one mark in the center of your forehead. Recite his mantras, sing His songs, perform the fire sacrifice, and make other forms of worship for the Lord. Yes, you can do the pooja fo your son. Do it twice a year during Uttarayana (mid Jan to mid July) and Dakshinayana (mid July to mid Jan). it is said that gives good result. Or you can stop with one time itself also.
You can perform during the Rahu kalam time on 12th feb – Thursday @ 1.30 pm to 03.00 pm. You should reach the Ticket counter two three hours before the Rahu kalam time to buy the ticket. The pooja samagri will issued with the ticket itself and you should purchase some flowers (Rs. 20) sold near the counter.
