History of Brahmamgari
Brahmamgari or Sri Madvirat Pothuluri Veerabrahmendra Swamy, also known as the ‘Nostradamus of India’, was a great saint and philosopher who lived during the 16th century in the Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh. He was born in the village of Brahmandapuram to a religious couple, Paripurnayacharya and Prakruthamba, who abandoned him at birth. He was then brought up at the Atri Mahamuni Ashram near Kashi.
From a very young age, Brahmamgari showed a deep interest in spirituality and spent most of his time meditating and contemplating the nature of existence. He gained a reputation for his spiritual knowledge and his prophecies, known as Kala Gnyanam (The Knowledge of Time), became popular in Andhra Pradesh during the premodern period.
Brahmamgari’s teachings and practices were influenced by both Hinduism and Islam, and he preached anti-caste principles. He prophesized about future events and made several predictions that have been noted for their accuracy.
Today, the Brahmamgari Matam in Kandimallayapalle, Andhra Pradesh, stands as a tribute to his legacy and is visited by thousands of devotees every year. The temple was built in 1693 CE, after Brahmamgari’s entry into his Jeeva Samadhi.

- Kakaiah Matham: This place is on the way towards Poleramma temple from Matham. Kakaiah is the person who listed Brahmamgari’s words when he was telling his followers. When Brahmam Garu was talking about the God who is within our body, he listen the same with half knowledge and he want to see the god so he went home and cut his wife into pieces to check the god but he didn’t find God and his wife died with this incident. He becomes angry with Brahmam Garu and comes back to him and conveyed the message that he cut his wife’s body to see God and that he didn’t find God. So Brahmam Garu realized his innocence and he gave life to his Wife. After this incident, Kakkaiah also becomes a follower of Brahamam Garu.
