The unique feature of the temple is that it unites together all people belonging to different caste, creeds and cultures and makes them believe that God is one. Five idols, known as Panchayatana, representing different faiths are installed in a particular place in the temple. They are: Aditya, Ambika, Vishnu, Ganesha and Maheswara. Finally the devotees worship Sun God, the presiding deity of the temple. As per puranas, the Sun God is the embodiment of the Trinity Brahama, Vishnu and Maheswara. The Lord during his daily movement over the universe, sees everything physically and understands the truth behind them, and hence is regarded as Pratyaksha Daivam (Visible God ). Sun God is also regarded as the source and supporter of all life. Those who perform ‘Suryanamaskara’ recite Maha Soura and Aruna Manthras, which contain powerful beejaksharas of Rigveda and Yajurvada that provides good health, and hence it is said that “Arogyam Bhaskaradhischet”. Mantra is a spiritual formula harmonizing sound which always rejuvenates the body and mind. This is the secret behind the worship of Sun God. Sunday is considered as the most auspicious day for Sun God worship.
