DO’S AND DONT’S at Srisailam Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy, Goddess Bhramaramba Devi

The ancient and famous shrine of Lord Mallikarjuna swamy is situated on a flat surface of Nallamala Hills, Kurnool District of Andhra Pradesh. Lord Shiva and Goddess Bhramaramba Devi are the preceding deities in this ancient kshetras in India. This mountain is also known as Siridhan, Srigiri, Sirigiri, Sriparvatha and Srinagam. This temple is a popular centre of Saivite pilgrimage. This kshetram is one of the twelve Jyothirlingas and Goddess Bhramaramba Devi is one of the eighteen Mahasakthis and both are Swayambhu. The unique feature of this temple is the combination of Jyotirlinga and Mahasakthi at one place which is very rare and unique. Pilgrims can touch the shiva Lingam and perform pooja, Abhishekam and Archana inside the sanctum sanctorum.

Do’s:

Do pray your Ishta Daivam before pilgrimage to Srisailam.
Do contact Srisaila Temple information centers for inquiring information and Pooja details etc.
Do reserve your travel up and down ticket and accommodation at Srisailam in advance.
Do have a bath and wear clean clothes before you enter the temple.
Do concentrate on Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy and Mata Bhramaramba Devi inside the temple premises.
Do maintain silence and recite Om Namah Sivaya or your favorite mantram to your self inside the temple premises.
Do observe Traditional dress in Srisailam Kshetram.
Do respect religious sentiments at Srisailam Kshetram.
Do deposit your offerings only in the hundis.
Dont’s :

Do not come to Srisailam for any other purpose rather than worshiping.
Do not smoke or consume alcoholic at Srisaila Kshetram.
Do not eat non-veg food in the Srisaila Kshetram.
Do not use short cuts by approach mediators for quick Darshanam.
Do not carry any weapon in Srisaila Kshetram.
Do not wear caps, turbans and hats inside the temple.
Do not perform Sastanga Pranama inside the Sanctum Sanctorum of Lord siva and Ammavaru.
Do not take more time performing Sparsa Darshan to Lord siva in Sanctum Sanctorum.
Do not buy prasadams from street vendors.
Do not encourage beggars at Srisaila.
