Tirumala Ramakrishna Theertham:
Ramakrishna Theertham is one of the popular theertham in Tirumala Hills, located 10 km north of the main Lord Venkateswara Temple. Bathing in this water is truly refreshing and is said to wash away evils and bestow good fortune. The best time to visit this place is during the rainy season, this place is even more beautiful with greenery all around and white water gushing from the rocks.
Here it is stated that a person named Krishna performed TAPAS (MEDITATION) and dug a pool to cleanse himself with water with religious rituals.
Later, a sage named Ramakrishna suffered severe punishment for his sins for centuries. During this time, an anthill has grown up around him without his knowledge.
Lord Indra wanted to test sage Ramakrishna and created torrents of rain with lightning and thunder to fall on the anthill. But he was completely oblivious. Only the crest of the ant hill broke and slid to the ground. Then Sri Vishnu appeared before him and said: On this day of Purnima (FULL MOON DAY) in combination with the star PUSHYAMI in the solar month of MAKARA (January) I favored Darshan.
Whoever bathes in this Theertham will be freed from all moral violations of the Laws. All these are well described in Skanda Purana in Chapter 5.
On this day many people visit this theertham to take a holy bath. The prasadams will be brought from the Main Balaji temple to this theertham and offered to Sri Krishna stationed here, and then the prasadam will be distributed among the Devotees.
