Yuddhagala Theertham / Rudra Kala Theertham:

Rudra Kala Theertham is one of the holy Theertham on Tirumala hills, known for his divinity and sacredness. It is said that Lord Rama bathed here to wash away his sin of killing Asura King Ravana. Rudra Kala Theertham is located in the heart of the Tirumala Forest. Once you have to walk 5 km deep in the forest to reach Rudra Kala Theertham.

This is also called Mogili Penta. We can see the ruins of the engravings of humans who lived 7000 years ago in this area. Mathrusri Tharigonda Vengmamba stayed and did penance. We can also see Cuce here for Lord Venkateswara Swamy. We can also see Cucalyptus tree planted in the year 1920 by the Britishers.

Theerthams – Hidden/ inaccessible/ way unknown to the Public:

  • Gujjana Falls: Gujjana Falls Tirumala is the highest fall in the Seshachala mountain ranges. Gujjana Falls is located deep in the forest area of Seshachala. To get to Gujjana Falls, you have to walk up the hills from Kukkala Doddi or down the hills from Papavinasanam Tirumala. It is located between Papavinasanam and Kukkala Doddi.
  • Beema Theertham: Beema Theertham is located in Tirumala II Ghat (in Tirumala), after passing through Alipiri, the valley behind the Vinayaka temple.
  • Anala/ Agni Theertham: It is believed that Lord Agni bathed here to get rid of his severe stomach pain.
  • Sri Vishnu/ Sanku Theertham: Vishnu Theertham is a sacred water body that lies deep within the forest area of Tirumala (Seshachalam Hills). Sri Vishnu Theertham is believed to have sacred powers. Devotees used to trek deep into the forest to reach this holy place. Sri Vishnu Theertham also called Sri Sanku Theertham.
  • Dasavathara Theertham: Dasavathara Theertham is one of the holy Theerthams of Tirumala, known for his divinity and sacredness. Dasavathara Theertham is located deep in the Tirumala Forest. Once you have to walk 9 km inside the forest to get to this place.
  • Sri Pada Theertham: 
  • Garuda Theertham: Garuda Theertham is another sacred water body located deep in Tirumala Forest. Garuda did penance here so it got its name.
  • Kaaya Rasaayana Theertham: Kayarasayana Theertham is located near Sanaka Sanadhana Theertham. It is said that anybody who drinks the water of this Theertham would be instantaneously purified. It is said that even a rotting yellow-colored leaf thrown into its waters would at once turn green. Kayarasayana Theertham is hidden from view for the common man and is visible only during the Mahatmas. It is believed that the source of this Theertham was blocked with stones by Sanaka and other Rishis.

  • Saneswara Theertham (Nalla Rathi Kona): Saneswara Theertham is located deep in the Tirumala forest. Lord Saneeswara did penance here for Lord Venkateswara, whoever takes bath here will not be haunted by Saneswara. Bath in this Theertham is good for a strong planetary position. It is 2 hours 30 mins trekking from Kukkala Doddi Village to reach this place.
  • Dhruva Theertham: Dhruva Theertham is one of the popular Theerthams of Tirumala. This is the place where Dhruva Maharishi did penance for Sri Maha Vishnu. Hence, this Theertham was called Dhruva Theertham. If anyone drinks water or sprinkles on their head from this Theertham water, they will be blessed with devotee and knowledge. This Theertham is easily accessible from Japali Theertham. It is a 30-minute walk from Japali Theertham to this location. The water comes out of the rocks here. The road to this Theertham is a mud track through the woods. It is highly recommended to ask locals or shop vendors for directions to this Theertham.
  • Panchami Theertham:
  • Gandharva Theertham: Gandharva Theertham, another sacred Theertham will be not visible to the human eye.
  • Panchayudha Theertham: Panchayudha Theertham is a group of 5 Theerthams. These Theerthams are named after the 5 divine weapons of Vishnu namely Sankha (Conch), Chakra (Disc), Gada (Club), Sainga (Bow) Dhanus and Nandaka (Sword) Theerthams, which are all very holy pools and are situated above the Vishvaksena Saras.
  • Agnikunda Theertham: This lies above the Panchayudha tirthas & is inaccessible.
  • Thotti Theertham: The sandal and saffron mixed Thirumanjanam waters used for the ritual ceremonial bath of the lord are collected on Fridays from this theertha. Drinking this water will destroy all sins.
  • Kayarasayana Theertham: Kayarasayana Theertham is located close to Sanaka Sanadhana Theertham. It is said that anyone who drinks the water from this Theertham would be instantly purified. It is said that even a rotten yellow leaf thrown into its waters would immediately turn green. Kayarasayana Theertham is hidden from the view of the common man and visible only to Mahatmas. It is believed that the source of this Theertham was blocked with stones by Sanaka and other Rishis.
  • Vishvaksena Sarasu: Above this Sakkara Theertham there is the sacred Vishvaksena Saras where Vishvaksena, the son of Varuna, did penance and obtained a form like that of Vishnu with the command of the forces of Sri Vishnu. Vishvaksena the son of Varuna did penance and was blessed to be the chief commander of the Lord to be with Bhagwan Sri Vishnu.
